When you register a web domain, you are likely going to have to provide a physical address. This may not be ideal, and some companies “offer” privacy to where they will mask your information with theirs. But nonetheless, you have to provide an address. I do not have WHOIS Privacy on any of my domains. One reason is not all domains support privacy, and that leak leaves the WHOIS Privacy a waste of money. So what do I do if I don’t want people to know where I live? I use a PO Box. The PO Box is a valid address, and in turn – I use it for all of my mail correspondences. I do have a shipping address which is much more expensive than a PO Box for packages. I don’t just use that address for the simple fact I will have to take a bus to the shipping address, and I can walk to the PO Box.
